Female Mill Workers in England and Japan - 796 Words
The Industrial Revolution was the greatest transformation period in human history. When people think about the Industrial revolution, they think about big steel, machines, and railroads. Whatââ¬â¢s missing are the exhausted, overworked laborers that operated the machinery that made things run. A prime example is the female textile mill workers from England and Japan. In the textile industry, women and young girls were the main employees. The main reason for this is that nimble fingers were needed to tend the spinning and weaving machines. Originally spinning and weaving were done at home or small spin shops but the Industrial revolution changed that by bringing house spinning and weaving to factories. With the mass production of textiles,â⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦They were open targets for the personal whims and sexual abuse by these low-ranking supervisors. Sustainability in multi-tier supply chains: Understanding the double agency role of the first-tier supplier As per the article Sustainability in multi-tier supply chains: Understanding the double agency role of the first-tier supplier by Miriam M. Wilhelm, Constantin Blome, Vikram Bhakoo and Antony Paulraj it can be found out that due to the increasing complexity in the various levels of supply chains the presence of the supplier in the primary level has become influential due to the search for sustainability in the whole chain. The authors have included different concepts and theory to discover the situation in which the primary suppliers will act as per the requirement and fulfill the firms sustainability. These requirements are then implemented in the suppliers operational activities. The findings that were extracted from this study focused on the detailed analysis with respect to various contexts. This wide variety shed light on the significance of the leading organizations to motivate the role played by every agency separately. This helps in reducing the difference in information shar ing and that also specifically in the second level. Moreover the inductive analysis of this study has revealed that there are certain contingency factors that manipulate the combination of the secondary role of the agency of the primary supplier. These factors consist of the available resource at the primary suppliers firm that guide the organizations focus towards the tertiary level. Hence, power of the firm is used to direct the organizations internal activities and procurement function. The authors have successfully combined the findings of this study by means of a conceptual framework to advance towards multi- level sustainable supply chains (Wilhelm et al. 2016). Assessing the contingent effects of collaboration on agility performance in buyersupplier relationships Many studies have been conducted to address the issues raised in the course of maintain the buyer and supplier relationship and the impact of collaboration on the quick performance prior to the article Assessing the contingent effects of collaboration on agility performance in buyersupplier relationships. There are some other studies which have deducted that the collaboration between the two has many advantages whereas the contradiction arose that the whether the collaboration has any positive impact on the boosting of relationships. The authors Sriram Narayanan, Ram Narasimhan and Tobias Schoenherr have included the contingency theory in this study for a better understanding of the connection and collaboration among the supplier and buyer. In addition to that the contingent influence of the requirements is explained due to the supplier asset specification. Through this article the authors have shown that trust is conveyed on the positive impact of collaboration on quick performance with the indirect impact on performance through trust gaining and this can be considered as very important beyond the limit of collaboration. The positive effect of association can be realized only if the collaboration is initiated beforehand. If the practice is put in theory then the nature of performance will be non-linear that has not yet been recognized by the authors in this article (Narayanan, Narasimhan and Schoenherr 2015). Enhancing supply chain performance through supplier social sustainability: An emerging economy perspective Sustainability is a trending topic among all the organizations and that is why it has gained popularity among the researchers and academicians too. The stakeholders have also become aware of the environmental and social issues and the way by which it can be addressed. In the article, Enhancing supply chain performance through supplier social sustainability: An emerging economy perspective the authors Venkatesh Mani, Angappa Gunasekaran and Catarina Delgado have mentioned that there is not much research done on this topic as compared to the extent in which it is being combined in the aspects of social sustainability in terms of the upcoming finance. How Can Supply Management Really Improve Performance? A Knowledge-Based Model of Alignment Capabilities Other researches on this topic have focused on the significance of internal and external supply chain integration but its increasing momentum in developing the capability is not clearly specified. The authors of this article How Can Supply Management Really Improve Performance? A Knowledge-Based Model of Alignment Capabilities Robert B. Handfield, Paul D. Cousins, Benn Lawson and Kenneth J. Petersen have proposed a theoretical model of supply chain framework to present the synergistic effects achieved through the internal lines of communication integrated with the external supply management on the basis of relationship processes. There are few hidden set of requirements for achieving the alignment in supply chain which will lead to a better performance. The additional effects of supply chain management are also explored for the improvement of supplier performance and quick networking. Drivers of Supplier Sustainability: Moving Beyond Compliance to Commitment Increase in the pressure for implementing sustainable business practices has paved the way for focusing on the sustainability drivers all over the supply chain. In this article named Drivers of Supplier Sustainability: Moving Beyond Compliance to Commitment the authors Kai Foerstl, Arash Azadegan, Thomas Leppelt and Evi Hartmann have stressed on the reason behind the sustainability of original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and the retailers. But there is much unknown about the methods used by the suppliers in implementing sustainable practices. The findings from this study have focused on the analyzed fact that a combination of suppliers and resource dependency theory drives the supplier engagement in supply chain management. On the other hand the suppliers need to have a clear idea of the sustainability priorities of the external and internal stakeholders for attaining the effective focus of further collaboration with suppliers. Hence, it can be said that the collaboration between the two functions of marketing and procurement are the main pillars for moving ahead of supplier compliance to the sustainability practices. The findings of this particular study can be explained as the process by which stakeholder related, process related and product related drivers has an impact on the choice and significance of the mechanism of purchasing and marketing. It can be concluded from this article that suppliers dedication to PM combination is influenced by the opportunity to enhance product offerings and sustainability (Forestl et al. 2015). Buyer Power and Supplier Relationship Commitment: A Cognitive Evaluation Theory Perspective This particular study on Buyer Power and Supplier Relationship Commitment: A Cognitive Evaluation Theory Perspective has looked into the effect of buyer power in supplier relationship commitment. When the power is implemented on the supplier by the buyer then the supplier can get the response at a very smooth and easy level. The authors Sangho Chae, Thomas Y. Choi and Daesik Hur have described that in theory the suppliers motivation is related to the buyers. When the cognitive evaluation theory was built, the proposed model focused on the distinguished but comprehensive manner of reward and coercive power which are best known as mediated powers in combination. In addition to that it is described that the non mediated powers influence both these powers. The authors have used survey to gather data for assisting and providing support to the argumentative theory. They have discussed the sensible impact of the methods used by rewards in using rewards and coercive powers for the betterment of supplier relationship commitment. This is because the rewards and coercive powers are implemented to get the desired activities from the suppliers. By doing so the organizational activities will be improved and the relationship between the supplier and buyer will also have a positive impact on the organization (Chae, Choi and Hur 2017). Essay Writing Tips - A Little Essay Writing Tips For Writing an Essay About Significant Items
Essay Writing Tips - A Little Essay Writing Tips For Writing an Essay About Significant ItemsIf you were to write an essay about a fact, for example: 'Chicago's Yellow Pages is the most searched phrases in the world' then you could compare that fact to an insignificant item such as, 'Oh, I had two numbers when I went to college'. Then you might compare that insignificant item to the fact and see which of them is more important. Now this process might seem simplistic but it actually goes on for quite some time and often the topic for the essay is not something that you need to discuss because it is an irrelevant item. It is when you find out that it is an irrelevant item that the most difficult task begins. It is very difficult because you need to think about what your real purpose for writing the essay will be, and if that is relevant or not.Your purpose for writing the essay is your objective, and your objective is to communicate the information that you need to convey. It is just li ke going to a doctor and saying, 'I need your advice on X'. The doctor wants to hear what your objective is and he needs to understand your objective. Just like the doctor needs to know the name of the disease you are having and that is why he is giving you his advice, you want to find out your objective.Your objective in writing the essay is to communicate that information to the reader and the best way to do this is by comparing the facts. This can be done using the comparison method. You start with a fact and you compare it to another fact. For example, you might say, 'Chicago's Yellow Pages is the most searched phrases in the world' and then you compare that fact to something, for example, 'Oh, I had two numbers when I went to college'.By comparing the two facts you can come up with two different things, two distinct facts and you need to communicate one to the reader and the other yourself. Then you need to write down the two different facts and then compare those two different facts to see which of them is more important and which of them are more important than the other. Then you need to make sure that what you are writing is factual and that you have not made any false statements in your article. If you made false statements then you need to know how to correct the errors so that the articles that you have written will stand up to the test of time. By doing this, you can use the essay as a teaching tool so that you can teach others what you have learned from your experience.Just remember that an essay does not end when you have written it. You must continue to update the article to make it better each and every time you write it.

The Other Side of the War Story free essay sample
Thinking about the 1890ââ¬â¢s in the Philippines, what comes to mind are katipuneros in their straw hats, kamisochinos and red trousers, raising their bolos in the air, fighting for the freedom of the country ââ¬â basically, a bloody era of wars between the brave natives and the powerful conquistadores. It is probably only natural; since young, we have been taught in school that the Spaniards brought nothing in the country but bloodshed and indolence, aside from a few euphemisms now and then to appease the brutality for the childrenââ¬â¢s young minds. Truthfully, never have I thought that thereââ¬â¢s another side to the tale, a side where style and glamour exist despite the noises of revolution. For the Filipino commoners, the Indios as they were named by the Spaniards, the last years of the 19th century were probably nothing but a cycle of dreadful tasks and the sporadic uprisings. But for the elitists ââ¬â itââ¬â¢s a whole different story. We will write a custom essay sample on The Other Side of the War Story or any similar topic specifically for you Do Not WasteYour Time HIRE WRITER Only 13.90 / page Manila was transformed into a European dreamland, a place for enjoyment and leisure as songs and dances filled the streets and even most of the elegant houses. The passion of the Filipinos for music was taken to a whole new level. The essay Merriment Mix by Doreen Fernandez speaks of the musical scene of Old Manila in a very enchanting way ââ¬â the soothing sound of woodwinds as the military band plays a serenata accompanied by the blow of the cool sea breeze, the roads filled with carriages that brought in men and women elegantly dressed for an afternoon of strolling along the bay; or the soulful music of the piano coming from the house of the prominent mestizo echoing across the street, indicating a night of tertulia. Music, as it seemed, was highly associated to prestige and utmost sophistication. For the elites, and for me as well if it were possible, old Manila was the place to be. The thought of hearing the crisp sound of the violins even in the narrowest streets, joining clubs where skills and friendship were celebrated with sweets and copitas of wine, beautiful faces hidden behind abanicos, ladies clothed in elegant gowns while walking around with grace ââ¬â this is definitely my cup of tea. But what I would really want to experience is hearing the seranatas of a symphonic band as I stroll along the old sea wall Calzada, watching the sunset and feeling the cool breeze. It is no doubt my definition of romantic, and the best way to relax after a day of hard work. If I could, I would turn Manila back to that time where everythingââ¬â¢s calm, classy and beautiful. But no matter how I dread the fast-paced city of Manila right now, the scorching heat, the traffic jams and the bright lights and loud music of bars at midnight, I have to look at the bright side and appreciate its growth. Who knows, old Manila may come back someday, this time with freedom and no rumors of war.
